In Dublin Learning Academy’s Pre-Kindergarten class, we work closely with your child to be sure they consistently work toward age-appropriate developmental and educational goals.
Developmental Milestones
The care and development of each Pre-Kindergarten student is the top priority of our experienced teachers and staff. We work closely with our Pre-Kindergarten students to ensure they are working towards their goals. Our teachers strive for, assess, and celebrate the following milestones for each student:
Language Arts
- Explains what a story is about, what comes next, and details about characters
- Knows concepts of print: reads left to right, holds a book, and turns pages correctly
- Knows letters and sounds and recognizes common sight words
- Recognizes rhymes in familiar songs, poems, and stories
- Shares writing samples and pictures with others
- Able to recite and write phone number and address
- Follows multi-part spoken directions
- Identifies and writes sight words
Mathematics
- Understands concepts of: more, less, and same
- Matches symbols, shapes, and patterns
- Identifies and writes numbers 1-100
- Identifies and uses a clock and calendar
- Understands patterns and sequencing
- Identifies, matches, and sorts objects
- Recognizes shapes, colors, and sizes
- Identifies money values
Science
- Identifies disparities in groups of living things

Focus in the Pre-Kindergarten Classroom
Focus in the Pre-Kindergarten Classroom
Our Dublin, OH Pre-Kindergarten students are introduced to reading tools and handwriting skills with an emphasis on Kindergarten readiness. As they prepare for Kindergarten, students follow a daily school schedule and work with their teachers and classmates to advance in the areas of language arts, mathematics, science, and social skills. Sight words and individual reading assessments help our students reach their full potential.
